About Canonical Tags
Canonical tags tell search engines which version of a URL is the “master” copy, helping to prevent duplicate content issues.
- Use canonical tags when you have multiple URLs with similar or identical content
- Always point canonical tags to the most important version of the page
- Canonical tags should use absolute URLs (including https://)
- Self-referencing canonical tags are recommended for all pages
- Remove tracking parameters (UTM, session IDs) from canonical URLs
Example: <link rel="canonical" href="https://example.com/page" />
