Pushpa 2 Story Line

Pushpa Lal Sandal rules the entire state by heading the smuggling syndicate while Bhor Singh Shekhawat is waiting for Pushpa to avenge his insult. Pushpa happily marries Sriwali and can do anything for her, she asks for a picture during a meeting with the chief minister of the state but the chief minister rejects it on the grounds that it could damage her reputation due to clicking with the smuggler. Pushpa convinces her friend Sudapa to contest the upcoming elections. The next chief minister and he are willing to spend a huge amount for it.

Pushpa teams up with Hameed, an international smuggler, for a large consignment of red sandalwood and alerts all her dealers. Shekhawat takes advantage of this opportunity to take Pushpa to his knees and works closely with Seenu and Diksha. Spreads fear among others that Shekhawat and Pushpa’s enmity may end the syndicate. Convince the members to patch up them but Shekhawat agrees on the condition that Pushpa apologizes to him in front of everyone. A huge party is organized where Pushpa and Shekhawat face each other and Pushpa apologizes to Shekhawat and leaves the party. Brought down his image and returned to the party where Shekhawat is celebrating. Insults him in front of a huge crowd and the two are angry for each other’s blood which is controlled by the mob.

Plots

A shipment of red sandalwood arrived at Japan’s Yokohama port, where workers were shocked to see pushpa hidden inside a container. He attacks them, demanding payment of the load but shoots and falls into the sea, triggering flashbacks.

After humiliating SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, Pushpa comes to power as a respected smuggler, while Shekhawat goes into hiding. Shekhawat secretly masks as a labourer and intercepts a large consignment of sandalwood. Meanwhile, Pushpa meets Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Narasimha Reddy, but refuses to take a picture with her to avoid political backlash. Angered, Pushpa vowed to topple the government by making Sadappa the chief minister, raising ₹500 crores through sandalwood smuggling.

Pushpa, however, manages to use her tricks and methods to smuggle sandalwood to Chennai to her final destination in Sri Lanka. While transporting, Shekhawat caught hold and shot all the trucks, forcing the drivers to flee. The media praised Shekhawat for the raid, but Srinu realised that the burden was not Chandan’s wood but Sandra, a wood that resembles red sandalwood but has no market value. Pushpa instead made bullock carts with real loads and transported them to Chennai, indirectly aiding Shekhawat himself.

Shekhawat is eventually allowed to track the consignment to Rameswaram but fails to catch it before crossing the Indo-Sri Lanka border. In a fit of rage, he burned the storage space, apparently killing himself in the fire. Meanwhile, Srivalli finds out she is pregnant, and Pushpa celebrates. However, the tragedy happens when his niece, Kaveri, is attacked during a festival and later kidnapped by Veera Pratap Reddy’s nephew Bagga Reddy. Pushpa rescues him, kills Bagga and his gang, along with Subba Reddy, Bagga’s father and Pratap Reddy’s younger brother. He reconciles with his alien family while celebrating Kaveri’s wedding, only for a mysterious figure to bomb the wedding.

Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, Anasuya Bhardwaj, Ajay Ghosh and the rest of the other actors of the first part reprised their roles. Jagdish Pratap Bandari rejoined the cast in February 2024 after being granted bail in a suicide case. Saurabh Sachdeva, Tarak Ponnappa, Satya and Aditya Menon were also said to be part of the film. Malaika Arora, Tripti Dimri, Janhvi Kapoor, Disha Patani and Shraddha Kapoor were roped in for the item number. However, Sarilila was later finalised.

Music

The background score and soundtrack of the film were composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the lyrics of which were written by Chandrabos. The film also features additional background scores compiled by Sam CS. The music rights of the film were acquired by T-Series for ₹65 crores. The first single titled “Pushpa Pushpa” was released on May 1, 2024. The second single titled “Susikki (The Kapil Song)” was released on 29 May 2024. The third single titled “Kisk” was released on November 24, 2024. The fourth single titled “Pellings” was released on 1 December 2024. On its opening day, the film grossed ₹280 crore worldwide, the highest-grossing film ever in India, earning ₹200 crores from the local market. Bollywood Hungama reported that the Hindi version has collected a net amount of ₹72 crore on the opening day in India. Pushpa 2: The Roll became the fastest film to reach ₹400 crore in just two days and ₹500 crore club in just three days. On the eighth day of its release, the film entered the ₹1000 crore club.

In the United States, the film debuted at number five by earning US$1,700,000 on its opening day and is expected to earn US$6,000,000 in its opening weekend. According to Deadline Hollywood, india’s four-day gross revenue is estimated at ₹590 crore ($70 million) and $20 million from overseas markets, taking its global first earnings of ₹762 crore ($90 million).

Pinkvilla reported that the film has earned ₹1,004 crore worldwide in the first eight days, with Rs 813 crore and ₹191 crore from domestic and international markets. The nine-day domestic gross is ₹855.25 crore. The 10-day domestic gross stands at ₹927 crore. The 11-day domestic gross stands at ₹1,008.50 crore, thus making Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) the second highest grossing film in India. The film grossed a total of ₹1,226 crore worldwide in its eleven-day run, with ₹1,009 and ₹217 crore (US$25 million) respectively from domestic and international markets. Box Office India reported that the film grossed a total of ₹1,274 crore worldwide in its thirteen-day run, with ₹1,054 crore and ₹220 crore from domestic and international markets respectively. In contrast, Business Standard reported that according to Comscore, the film grossed ₹1,414 crore worldwide in its 12-day run.

The domestic gross collection was ₹1,110 crore, in the first two weeks, with ₹288.25 crore from its domestic market (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). The daily news and analysis reported that the film has earned ₹ 1,290.92 crore locally in 19 days, with a total of ₹ 1,570.92 crore, including ₹ 280 crore from the global markets. On its 20th day, the film’s net earnings in India alone reached ₹1,100 crore, with ₹700 crore coming from the Hindi version, making it the first film to reach this milestone. Pinkvilla has a total revenue of ₹1,505 crore for 22 days worldwide. The film grossed Rs 27.03 crore domestically in Nepal, thus becoming the highest-grossing foreign film and the second highest-grossing film in the country.
