The Family Star Storyline

A young man from a middle-class family in India named Govardhan aspires to be a wonderful person.. However, his journey is fraught with challenges as he navigates a complex web of family relationships, trust issues, and ego. From the heights of family love to betrayals and misunderstandings, Govardhan must tread carefully to pursue his desires while balancing the dynamics within his family.

This marks the second collaboration between family star Vijay Deverakonda and director Parshuram Petla after Geetha Govindam’s blockbuster hit. So, naturally, there were high expectations from the film but sadly, The Family Star is a routine and lengthy family drama. Producer Dil Raju had revealed in all his media interactions that the story is normal but the offer will be new, so there was a ray of hope. However, Parasuram is disappointed with his outdated narrative and lack of basic emotions in the film.

Plot

Present: A woman named Indu sits sadly in the middle of the ceremony. When she is questioned about her unusual behaviour, she tells a story about her past.

Past: Govardhan is a family man. As a selfless character, he works in the business for his family. He also faces problems with his brother (who is an alcoholic). However, he meets Indu when she goes into his “space”.That too, Indu and her family quickly become friends. Soon, they both fall in love. After a major incident, he reconciles with his brother when his mother tells Indu that his brother hated him because Govardhan shamed him. However, when he gets her thesis for his family and college project, he slaps her and vows to teach her a lesson. He goes to a former job offerer (Jagapathi Babu), requests to join the company, and asks for a large advance. Indu uses this advance to refute what he has written in his paper.

However, it has been revealed that Indu is sir’s daughter. Despite being angry he continues in the company but demands everything Indu gets. After learning that his flight tickets were not paid, he goes to Indu, who provides money for his family. After falling in love again, he has heard him talk negatively about Indu to a woman that he is not the right person for her. Heartbroken, Indu disassociates herself from him. After revealing that she heard him that day, she leaves him.

Production

On February 6, 2023, Vijay Deverakonda, who had successfully collaborated with director Parshuram after Geetha Govindam (2018), was announced to join hands with the latter to direct him after Sarkaru Vaari Paata (2022). Sri Venkateswara Creations, which will be jointly headed by Dilraju and Suresh, will reportedly prepare the project. The company made a public announcement on June 14 confirming the plan. Tentatively titled VD13, a muhurat puja was held this week with the presence of the film’s cast and crew. The presence of Deverakonda and actress Mrunal Thakur revealed their involvement. Shortly after the start of principal photography, Divyansha Kaushik was announced to play as the second lead actress. The official title, The Family Star, was speculated in June 2023 and announced in October 2023.

Music

This was followed by “Kalyani Socha Socha”, which released on March 12, 2024. The third single “Madhuramu Kada” was released on March 25, 2024.

Conclusion

Yes, I would like to mention one thing that the film is not boring at all. It happens that sometimes some films become such that you do not even feel like watching them, so this does not happen with this film.

You can take the film like a kind of guilty pressure where, especially in the second half, you let the film go the way it is and enjoy yourself.

Let me tell you that there is also a song in the film Kalyani Vicha Vicha which was good to hear.

Overall, I would like to say that instead of creating relevant circumstances, if a relatable character was created here and played in a natural way, at least The Family Star could have been a good film worth watching once.
